Students enrolled in middle school programs receive an introduction to STEM related careers through hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
Students learn how to apply "green" choices to the fields of architecture and construction by exploring dimensioning, measuring, and architectural sustainability as they design affordable housing units using Autodesk's 3D architectural design software.
While working in teams, students apply the design process to solve problems and understand the influence of creativity and innovation in their lives.
Students study DNA evidence to solve medical mysteries through hands-on projects and labs and learn how the systems of the human body work together to maintain health.
While working in teams, students use the VEX Robotics® platform to design, build, and program real-world objects and learn about mechanical systems, energy transfer, machine automation, and computer control systems.
Polaris offers satellite, or off-campus, programming in our partner school districts as a means to deliver accessible, high quality educational services in the surrounding communities. Today, Project Lead the Way® Gateway programs are offered for students at our 6 district schools; Berea-Midpark, Brooklyn, Fairview Park, Olmsted Falls, North Olmsted and Strongsville. Course offering includes Design & Modeling, Medical Detectives, Automation & Robotics and Green Architecture.
