Our Broadcasting & Video Production, Business Professional & Office Technology and Marketing & Entrepreneurship students recently competed in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) state competition both virtually and in Columbus. BPA is the leading Career-Technical Student Organization for young people pursuing careers in business, finance, marketing and information technology. Ohio boasts the largest statewide chapter in the United States with over 10,000 members in 18 regions. Nationally, BPA has over 43,000 members in over 2,300 chapters across 23 states. BPA competitions give students the chance to demonstrate the skills they have mastered in their career-technical training programs.
Over 2,500 young people from around Ohio competed in this year’s statewide events. Twenty Polaris students qualified to compete at the National BPA competition in Anaheim, California, on April 26-30, 2023. Three Polaris Business Professional & Office Technology students won state titles in their respective events. Tess Blain, a senior from Olmsted Falls High School, placed first in the integrated office applications event. Rachel Delap, an Olmsted Falls junior, took top honors in advanced office systems & procedures. Riley Wilson, a Brooklyn High School senior, grabbed the top spot in personal financial management.
